Perfect Paws Pet Rescue Foster Application

Perfect Paws Pet Rescue provide potential fosters with as much information as possible on every pet.  This information comes from multiple sources and is accurate and true to the best of our ability. Information comes from, the shelter, previous owner, or other rescue which the pet came from.

To the best of our knowledge, pets do not have any major health or behavioral issues.  It is however, impossible for Perfect Paws to know if future health or behavioral problems will arise.  Perfect Paws makes no warranties, or guarantees regarding the health, physical condition, or the temperament, of any foster pet.

Perfect Paws Pet Rescue's Foster Guidelines:

  • You must be 18 years of age to foster for Perfect Paws Pet Rescue.
  • We reserve the right to conduct an inspection of the residence where pet will live.
  • We ask you to provide references and reserve the right to contact those references
  • You will also be required to read and sign a foster contract

FOSTER EXPECTATIONS.  PPPR expects the pets to be treated lovingly, NEVER hit, NEVER abused or mistreated.   The dogs/puppies are expected to be kept clean, dry, warm or cool.  They should NEVER be left or placed in crates with wet or damp bedding.   The dogs/puppies should NEVER smell of urine or feces.  PPPR expects You to work with the foster dogs/puppies on housetraining, crate training, and leash training.  PPPR expects You to begin teaching basic obedience such as sit, come, and ”NO”.  PPPR expects You to transport the dog/puppy to a specified location to meet adopters at a mutually agreeable time.  PPPR also expects You to transport and be present when ever possible at adoption events held.  These events are held the third Saturday of every month.  Fosters with children are expected to supervise the interaction between the children and the dog/puppies AT ALL TIMES.   Any inappropriate actions from either the children or the dogs/puppies should be addressed by the parents.  Your owned pets must be current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention medication. This will protect your owned pets from contracting illnesses and parasites from a foster dog/puppy.  However, there always the possibility your owned pet could contract an illness or parasite.   PPPR is not responsible for any illness, parasite, or injury that occurs from having a foster dog/puppy in your home.  PPPR has very strict guidelines for our adopters and expect You to set a prime example of a EXCEPTIONAL pet owner.  If we cannot lead by example, we have no right to do rescue.

FOSTER GUIDELINES.  If You need food, medication, send an email or leave a voicemail at least 3 days before you run out of food or medicine.  Other life commitments prevents PPPR to provide needed supplies with short notice.   If You make the decision to adopt a pet, whether it be from PPPR or another source, You must let PPPR staff  know.  PPPR must be notified as to the intent to adopt and the specifics on what pet is being adopted.   You CANNOT ”œtake in” any stray, lost, or owner surrender pet without contacting PPPR PRIOR to doing so.  This is strictly for the safety and well being of our rescued pets.  Dogs/puppies can carry many parasites and/or viruses which can be potentially harmful, even fatal to our rescued dogs/puppies.  If PPPR feels its rescued dogs/puppies are in jeopardy, we will take the necessary steps to remove the rescued pets from Your home.  It is duty and responsibility of PPPR to protect the pets it rescues from the time they arrive until they go to their forever adopter’s home.  The intake of pets into the rescue is solely the decision of the PPPR Director.
