Meet Emmy!! She is a beautiful, approx 10 month old, Yellow Lab mix. She currently weighs about 70 pounds, was adopted from our rescue when she was just 8 weeks old. Emmy was returned to our rescue when her owner became very ill. She is currently learning boundaries, rules and limitations in her foster home and is doing beautifully!! She is VERY affectionate, outgoing dog who loves attention. Emmy gets along great with other dogs, cats and kids. She is house and crate trained. Emmy needs work on walking on a leash as she will pull. She will make some family a great furry family member!! Emmy would do best in a home without toddlers or very young children. The adoption fee for Emmy is being waived as Emmy has special circumstances. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and had surgery on her hip in December 2012. This surgery relieved her pain but has slowed her down. She goes for walks but stops and sits when she gets tired. She also plays with other dogs but again will sit or lay down when she is tired. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. She will go home with a collar, leash, training DVD, and vaccination record.
