Normal adoption fee of $80 will be waived:  Bartholomew is a 2-3 yr. old neutered male who tested positive for FIV. Bartholomew loves to be petted under his chin, and when you stop petting him, he will gently grab your hand to let you know that you aren’t done. He loves to play with hair ties and toy mice. He is the one of the best behaved cats I have ever met. He has loved our dogs since the first day we brought him into the house, and he will wait to eat until the other cats are done eating. He has recently decided that he enjoys laying on the bed.

Where he came from:   In January 2011, he found himself locked in a factory, where he was tripping the alarms. Someone set a live trap one night, and when they checked it in the morning, the trap was tripped, but the food and the cat had both disappeared. We tried a larger trap, but Bartholomew was not about to fall for that again. After hours of searching, we decided to try to cover the trap, so it looked more like a cave than a trap, and we put some irresistible lasagna in there for him. The next day, we had finally caught him. He was less than thrilled about the trap, and even less thrilled about people being near him, so we got out some welding gloves, and carried the trap into the car. Meanwhile he was hissing, spitting, and swatting at us. I had never been so afraid of a cat before. Despite his less than cordial actions, we still wanted to give him a chance. Unwilling to give up on him, he was neutered and we began working with him. In April 2011, the unimaginable happened, we finally were able to pet him. After we pet him the first time, he instantly transformed.
