Meet Nutmeg!!  She is a 9-month-old Red Heeler/Jack Russell mix.  Nutmeg is a very energetic pup and has tolerated people of all ages fairly well.  She does get very jealous if another pet is receiving attention and petting; she will wedge her way under your hand until she gets affection.  Nutmeg showed up one day on the door step, obviously having been on the street for some time and was used to scavenging for food.  This has made it difficult to break some bad habits such as stealing food from tables and counters.  Nutmeg is a little skittish at first but affectionate once she feels safe.  She is a vocal dog, with a very high energy level, is crate trained and house broken (for the most part).  She does still have an occasional accident and is still in the puppy stage (i.e. chews everything).  She does well with children, other dogs and cats.   Nutmeg needs a family who will be committed to her, take her for walks, play with her, and expend her energy.  Nutmeg craves attention and wants very much to be by your side.  She will benefit greatly from obedience training and socialization.  Nutmeg is a beautiful dog; just look at that face! The adoption fee is $100.00. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue.  She will go home with a collar, leash, training DVD, and vaccination record.
