Meet Max!!! He is an purebred,AKC registered Golden Retriever. Max is just 8 months old already weighs 60 pounds, and will be a big boy when he's full grown. He came to our rescue when his owner surrendered him because they are moving and cannot take him with them. When Max came to us, he had some bad habits. He is very strong willed and wants to have his way. He has nipped and mouthed an arm or hand occasionally showing his disgruntlement when he does not get his way. In addition to being head strong, Max also has physical strengh do to his size. Since coming to us, Max has undergone some serious training and has come a long way. He is now respectful and minds most of the time with only brief tantrums. Max will need to continue his training so he does not slip back into his old behaviors. He needs a family committed to continue his training, take him for walks, and play ball with him, and expend his puppy energy. He is still a puppy even though he doesn't look like a puppy. Max is a big, powerful dog that needs to continue to understand he is NOT in charge. Max can only go to a home with children over the age of 10. Max walks well on a leash, is completely housetrained, crate trained, is VERY smart, and incredibly sweet when he chooses to be. Max is a beautiful dog and everyone who meets Max falls in love with him. He is a special boy but does need a great deal of structure in his life! The adoption fee is $250.00. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, tag, training DVD, and vaccination record.
