*I am a 1.5 year old Aussiepoo.
*Niko has an undetermined urinary issue which causes urine leakage, but is manageable.  Further diagnostic work is needed to determine the actual cause.
*He wears a belly band when he is not out in the yard or on a walk.  It does not seem to bother him and he does not mess with it.  The foster family is currently rotating three bands throughout the day and they wash them all each morning.
*Using a washcloth and towel to clean and dry his skin and bathing him weekly reduces his risk of future UTIs.  He is a very good boy in the tub!
*Letting him out frequently during the day to empty his bladder and allowing his skin to breathe is very helpful.
*Niko is good on a leash and likes to walk alone and with other dogs.
*He is high energy and loves to run, jump and fetch balls outside.  A fenced in yard would be ideal.
*Niko is excellent with commands and very smart.  He knows sit, stay, down, shake, drop it, go to bed (kennel), and roll over.  He would do well with agility, frisbee or other sports.
*He is crate trained and housetrained.
*Niko is working on learning not to jump up and he is improving quickly.
*He can take a minute to warm up, moreso with men, but he can be won over with patience and praise.  Hand feeding, and reward is working.  That being said, he would do best in a home that was not all male.  He will need a female influence.
*He is not aggressive and will retreat appropriately when challenged.
*Niko will make an excellent family pet if given the opportunity.  He is a very sweet boy!

*Niko is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on his vaccinations.  He has been started on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.        

* The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
