This is Bentley!  He is a 1 1/2 year old Shih Tzu/Maltese mix.  He weighs 10 pounds and is full grown.  He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccinations.  He is house and crate trained.  He is a shy little guy that takes a bit to warm up to you.  He is good with people, and children over 10.  He is good with other dogs.  Bentley was seen roaming and was afraid to let anyone approach him.  He was live trapped and then it was discovered that he had several issues.  His hair was severly matted and once he was bathed and shaved, we could see that he had barbed wire stuck around one leg and a horrible infection in his matted ears.  His leg is fine, minus 1 dew claw but that is ok.  He underwent a serious operation on both ear canals to remove the infection and reopen his ear canals.  He does have good hearing now.  He had his suctures removed on 6/21 and is ready to find his forever home.  He will need a family that will be slow and gentle with him and earn his trust.  He will become a sweet family member.  He would benefit from attending an obedience class to help with basic commands, establishing house rules and for socialization.  His adoption fee is $300. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
